What livestock do you keep? Do you have "useful" livestock and/or pets? I'm certainly not having a dig ehre, as I think pets are vitally important for a great number of reasons; just wondered what you all have?

Just a dog (Irish setter) and a cat neither very useful The dog is quite a good exercise machine though and possibly cheaper than a gym membership!

OH would fall off his chair laughing if I said the hens we keep were useful . At the moment, they are far from useful as we are having to buy eggs while they live a life of luxury doing nowt . Hopefully in the new year they'll start laying again though. We have 7 pure breed hens and 1 elderly hybrid at the moment. No other pets though, unless you count the dust bunnies under the sofa. |

3 dogs, 2 cats, 7 chickens and one husband!
2 of the dogs and the cats are getting on a bit so in a few years it will be just one dog and the chickens which is a lot more manageable when things get tough. |

Goats and bees unproductive again this year. OH complaining about expensive pets again
Not a good enough eyar to take honey, so I left them to it; they should have enough stores to see them through the winter, though. Goats need a good talking to so I can get to milk them - one definitley shows signs of maiden milker.
